Welcome

The name Cannanda is a tribute to the cannabis plant and anandamide, the first endogenous (produced within the body) cannabinoid. Discovered in 1992, anandamide comes from the Sanskrit "ananda", meaning bliss. This internally produced compound is responsible for feelings of well-being and balance. Likewise, plant cannabinoids (Medical Cannabis) may help with a myriad of conditions, such as pain and anxiety. Together, they interact synergistically with our Endocannabinoid System (the ECS) to bring relief from symptoms, enhancing quality of life.

 I earned my Master's degree in Medical Cannabis Science and Therapeutics from the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy, graduating with honors and induction into the Rho Chi Society for Pharmaceutical Sciences. 

I am a Registered Nurse experienced in hospice, public health (behavioral health and infectious disease) and currently work in a Direct Primary Care Medicine practice. 

As a Medical Cannabis patient myself following a near-fatal car accident, Medical Cannabis has had a positive impact on my physical, mental and emotional well-being.
